Here, the effect of a jump in the base on the flow and head distribution is investigated for confined flow using a solution for two-dimensional flow in the vertical plane. The two-dimensional flow solution is compared to a Dupuit solution and the effect of vertical anisotropy in the hydraulic conductivity is investigated. The solution is obtained with conformal mapping.
